2024-25 school supply list
Congratulations to Thehara Ubayawardena (MHS) and Jasmine Wu (SHS) for their award-winning creative writing entered in the Sokol Awards Literary Contest sponsored by the Friends & Foundation of the Rochester Public Library. Ubayawardena won second place for her poetry, “Social Norms Pop Quiz.” Wu earned third place in prose for her story, “Mr. Patched Bear.” The Sokol Awards Ceremony and Reception will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 4pm-5:30pm in the Kate Gleason Auditorium at Central Library, 115 South Avenue.
Congratulations to the Pittsford students who competed at the 65th Annual New York State DECA Career Conference held March 5 - 7, 2025, in Rochester, NY. With over 3,000 competitors, 11 Mendon High School students and six Sutherland High School students brought home multiple wins across various categories. Students from across New York State competed in over 25 different events.

On February 25, 2025, the Pittsford Schools’ Board of Education appointed Jason Simoni as principal of Barker Road Middle School, with a start date of March 26, 2025.
“Mr. Simoni brings a deep and varied background to this position. He has over 20 years of experience in secondary education in public and private settings,” said Michael Pero, Superintendent of Schools.
